What’s new
Every launcher version, newest first. They install on their own at startup.
v0.1.23Latest
DayZ installed on an external or network drive (exFAT, FAT32…) now launches, and the “Preparing mods” error that came back even after moving DayZ is fixed. When an error remains, the message says which mod is involved and what to do. New “Send my logs to support” button (Settings, and the connection window when something fails): the list of files is shown before sending, no password or user name is sent, and you get a code to give in your Discord ticket. The 1PP/3PP display stays right with DayZ 1.30.
v0.1.22
Fix: Windows Defender wrongly flagged 0.1.21 as dangerous and quarantined it. The button that opens a mod's folder now goes through Windows itself, like links. If your antivirus removed the launcher, download it again from the website: your settings and favorites are kept.
v0.1.21
Safer launch: DayZ no longer starts while Steam is downloading one of the server's mods. The launcher checks again right before starting the game and waits if Steam started downloading meanwhile; mods whose status Steam lost go through Steam first. If Steam still starts downloading a server mod right after the game starts, the launcher tells you. New in the Mods tab: a button to open a mod's folder and see its files.
v0.1.20
Fix for players stuck downloading mods. Steam can lose a mod's "installed" status while its files are still there: the launcher thought it was missing and kept asking for a download Steam refused. It now trusts the files on disk, after checking they are complete and at the latest version; an incomplete mod is downloaded again. The other way round, a mod whose folder was deleted is downloaded again instead of starting the game without it.
v0.1.19
Clearer mod downloads. When a mod fails to download, the launcher now says which one and why, with what to do: disk full, Steam offline or logged out, mod removed or private, damaged files… It also spots when Steam believes a mod is installed while its files are gone, and explains how to fix it. A button opens Steam's Downloads page or the mod's Workshop page directly, and a server's details mark in red the mods that failed to download.
v0.1.18
Fixes. The server list and details now show the server's current mods, asked to the server itself: a mod that was just added shows up right away instead of up to 2 hours later. Servers that load a mod missing from the Workshop can now be joined: that mod is marked "not on Workshop" and is no longer downloaded (the launch used to fail at the Mods step), and "Customize" lets you load your local copy in its place. On those servers, the mod update check before joining works too.
v0.1.17
New "Launch" tab: start DayZ with the mods you choose, without going through a server (DayZ Editor to build maps, testing your own mods…), with profiles that mix installed mods, local folders and Workshop links, and suggested dependencies. In a server's details, "Customize" lets you replace a mod with your local version, disable some or add others, with a "Server" / "My profile" switch. Before joining, the launcher checks the Workshop and updates outdated mods, even when Steam has not noticed yet; the Mods tab shows them right away and no longer marks mods of experimental servers or of your profiles as "Unused". Stronger security: launcher updates are checked more strictly, paths and links are validated.
v0.1.16
Server list: a "New" badge marks servers that opened less than 7 days ago, and a search now shows every matching server, even without recent players. A server added by its address also shows up faster in everyone's list.
v0.1.15
Home: the featured server now shows with its logo over the theme's background (its banner, which looked enlarged, stays visible in its details), and a long name now fits on two lines.
v0.1.14
Featured servers show their logo and their full name (on two lines when needed), on the home page and at the top of the list. Kaizen servers are now shown like the other sponsored servers. The price on the "Your spot here" card is fixed.
v0.1.13
Home: the "News" section now shows what's new in the launcher (the last 3 versions), with a link to each version's details on the website.
v0.1.12
New home page: a featured server, two large cards and a "Promoted" grid, where owners will soon be able to sponsor their server (until then, these places show the Kaizen servers). Trending: the servers gaining the most players over 7 days. A server's details show its profile (description, tags, wipe, Discord and website links) and let you report it. Kaizen servers are listed like the others, below the "Featured" band. Dates, numbers and durations now follow the chosen language.
v0.1.11
Warning when your DayZ version does not match the server's, with the choice to join anyway. New "Without joining" button in a server's details: starts DayZ with its mods, without connecting. Extra local mods in Settings, loaded on top of the server's mods. In a server's details, its version is highlighted when it differs from yours.
v0.1.10
Mandatory updates: when a new version is out, the launcher installs it right away in a dedicated screen (an installer window opens for a few seconds, nothing to click). If you are in a game, it waits until you are done. Antivirus fixes.
v0.1.9
"Join" links: a launcher.kaizen-dayz.fr/join/… link posted on Discord or a website opens the launcher, adds the server to your favorites and offers to connect (stable and experimental). Share button in a server's details, and a "Join this server" button on your Discord profile while you play. The launcher always starts on stable. New address: launcher.kaizen-dayz.fr.
v0.1.8
New: a Stable / Experimental button on the Servers screen. On experimental, the list shows DayZ Experimental servers and the launcher downloads their mods, then starts DayZ Experimental with them, nothing to load by hand (DayZ Experimental must be installed through Steam). The Favorites filter now sits right next to the map filter.
v0.1.7
Cleaner list: servers without a single player for several days are hidden by default ("Inactive servers" box to see them again, your favorites always stay visible). "Official" filter and badge for verified Bohemia servers. Number of players in game and on the launcher. "Repair" button on every mod. Search also finds the map and the Kaizen servers.
v0.1.6
In-game time and playtime in a server's details, day/night icon with the time acceleration on hover.
v0.1.5
Automatic updates (no more clicking), new launcher icon, more readable Kaizen Servers theme fonts.
v0.1.4
New Kaizen Servers look (the orange theme is still available in Settings → Appearance), refresh button on each server.
v0.1.3
Discord presence, and your favorite Kaizen servers now show up in the Favorites filter.
v0.1.2
Discord presence: your friends see which server you play on.
v0.1.1
Pinned servers and news update without restarting the launcher.
v0.1.0
First version of Kaizen Launcher.
